In the first days after laparoscopy, mild pain, shoulder discomfort and tiredness are common. Early walking, gradual eating and balanced rest usually speed recovery.

Red flags

  • Fever above 38°C or pain that keeps worsening
  • Pus or heavy redness/swelling at a wound site
  • Persistent vomiting or a very swollen abdomen
  • Shortness of breath or chest pressure
  • Much less urine or severe burning when passing urine
